This small space garden had some practical requirements to be considered, the family required a designated seating area, a garden shed with good access for bikes, and, as with many modern homes, there is an Air-to-Water pump to be incorporated into the Garden Design Services in Clontarf.

The Dining Terrace was raised to run flush with the finish level of the kitchen floor, giving a seamless flow from inside to outside. This area also benefits from planting at eye level while seated. It is contained as its own area, an entirely separate and yet visually open to the rest of the garden.

Much of the planting appropriate to the aspect of this garden are shade-loving specimens, which adds to the contemporary lush impression. Wanting to keep the area as spacious as possible, we opted for slim ground-level beds. Some carefully placed uplighters bring a dramatic lighting effect come nightfall, catching the canopy of trees and built wall feature.
